USEFUL INFORMATIONCarvoeiro Beach still maintains today its fishing typical trace where fishing and tourism are hand in hand, with narrow streets, houses with laced chimneys and terraces, handicraft stores, restaurants and bars.
The beach in the hot summer days is full of tourists, fishermen and colourful fishing boats.
Near the beach the small square is usually a very amused area, special in the Summer.
Our tip:Take a cave tour on a fishermen boat, departing from the beach and discovery a beauty only accessible by boat.

NEAR CARVOEIROFor families with children, can not miss the many thematic parks existing in the region: water parks, mini zoos or the Zoomarine.
Lagoa (5 km): Interior town, being the council town of the area and even though still has its charm of a typical interior village. To its council belongs Carvoeiro, Estombar, Ferragudo, Parchal and Porches. In the town is worth to visit S. Jose Convent, the Mother Church and Wine Cellar where produced one of the finest wines in the Algarve is. The fair park of Lagoa is also very popular being the stage of many events, being Facatil held in August one of the most visited not only by locals but also by tourists.
Porches (9 km): In this small town are situated the best pottery crafts of the region, having the change to see craftsman working and to see unique examples of the traditional Portuguese tiles and many decorative objects all hand made. It’s the right spot for those who whish to take home a souvenir truly from the Algarve. Porches has also traditional restaurants where is played live fado by genuine artists.
Silves (14 km): Its name used to be Xelb and was the capital of the Moorish Kingdom in the Algarve. Nowadays still maintains its moorish and medieval look. Not to miss a visit to the it’s Castle, the Mother Church, the Cross of Portugal. Many events are held in this town during the hot summer nights such as the beer fest and the medieval fest. Both worth a visit and are a good memory from you holiday.
Armação de Pêra (16 km): Its beaches are very appreciate and being elected by many tourists who come every year to spend their holidays. The town is a nice place to visit at nigh, not only for families but also for young people, with pleasant small garden areas overlooking the beach, nice fish restaurants, cafes and snacks bars.
Portimão and Praia da Rocha (16 km): Portimão is located near Arade River and is the second most important town of the Algarve and with na excellent shopping pedestrian area. The town helds various events all year long.
